OOTD - Misha In wonderland

“There is no better designer than nature.”

Dress- Asos - another similar here

Although this dress looks nothing like the one Alice wore in Alice and wonderland, fall I can think about when I see it is the book/film, the dress is so enchanting and whimsical it would be hard not too link them. The colours are so earthy and merge well together there are two differing styles on the website with the other being slightly darker and with more of a floral print (both linked above) I do prefer the other colour however they are on low stock at the moment and only hold it in a size 14.

This Ultra drop waist mini dress is in fact only available in the petite range at Asos which is designed to fit women of 5'3/1.60m and under, however I am 5'7 and although the dress is a little short it still covers everything and doesn't look like it wasn't intended for a person of my height. I applaud Asos for creating such a unique dress, currently everything looks the same and it's always nice once in a while to choose a piece that breaks the mould, as famously said by Dr. Suess (who relates greatly to Alice and wonderland)  - "Why fit in when you were born to stand out?".

Graduation Dress

"What you wear is how you present yourself to the world, especially today, when human
contacts are so quick. Fashion is instant language."
- Miuccia Prada

Dress - Ginger Fizz

I love the style and the floral print on the dress I chose for my graduation it's so pretty, girly and perfect for a smart occasion as it isn't very revealing. The material has a silky feel which makes it very lightweight, (a must in the abnormally hot weather we are having in UK at the moment) especially as I was going to have to wear a huge gown over it.

Deciding on a dress took a very long time as i'm quite picky and I feel that graduation is almost as important as your wedding day, it's a day where the pictures and memories will be kept forever and you don't want to remember yourself looking horrific. I decided it was definitely best to pick something classic and timeless, and I also wanted a lighter coloured dress as it would stand out under the gown, compliment my darker skin tone and be more suitable in the heat.

These were my other choices :-

Shine bright like a diamond ...

Although this dress is literally about 3 years old from Topshop, I wore it a few days ago for the first time on a night out and have absolutely fallen in love with it. This is definitely mainly to do with the bright, vibrant colour and has made me eager to purchase some more bright evening dresses.

When I first bought the dress I was very skeptical as I thought the colour was too over the top for a night out (I would usually stick to dark or light neutrals), however I'm glad I gave it another chance. Bright colours compliment all skin tones and as long as the style of the dress is nice and flattering, can be very classy.

Here are a few other dresses I've been coveting since I discovered my love for the brights :-

OOTD - Night owl

Dress - ASOS (sold out - similar)// Heels - Christian Louboutin Highness Arabesque

I thought I'd share the outfit I'm planning to wear on Saturday for my friends birthday night out with you. The bodycon bandeau  dress was from the premium range at ASOS (I've only just discovered ASOS premium, they have some gorgeous dresses definitely check it out). The heels are my super high, Highness Arabesque Loubies (Christian Louboutins). They are my highest pair of shoes and I've had to take time out to practice walking in them mainly because I managed to fall over in the Louboutin shop when trying them on and got laughed at by the security man, so I definitely don't want a repeat of that in a crowded place.

Whilst on the topic of designer shoes just a reminder about Protect your pumps which is a non slip transparent adhesive, to protect your soles, they aren't very pricey and are definitely worth buying as there's no point paying so much money for shoes to then let them get badly scratched and dirty.

The lip stain i'm wearing looks slightly brighter in real life, I got it in a glossybox and I love it. The stain is by Jelly Pong Pong, it's very moisturising and the colour (Cranberry) lasts the whole day. It looks like a crayon (similar to Revlon Just Bitten) which I prefer to the liquid stains as the colour doesn't last or show up as well. I'd certainly recommend it, they come in marshmallow pink as well, a lovely colour which is described as soft petal pink on the website, undoubtedly my next beauty purchase :) .

OOTD - Emerald

Dress - Zara (found a listing on ebay for it in black, keep checking for it in green, some similar dresses - 1,2)// Bag - House of Fraser (similar here, In colour zebra)// Heels -Asos

I first saw this dress on the Zara website and when I noticed it was out of stock I wasn't having it, I had already fallen in love with it and when I love an Item I will go to great lengths to find it !! I checked my local Zara store and they had sold out there also, I asked 2 friends in other towns to look... and still no luck, I even considered ordering it from the American Zara website and somehow getting it to England
(Yes I know I sound like a mad person but I really needed this dress!!).
It's typical me going on these little clothes hunts anyway, once when I was younger I managed to get my parents to drive me to a random place which was around 3 hours away to get some shoes which were only in stock at that shop.

Anyway back to the dress, I finally found it on ebay for more than it was in the shops but I wasn't going to complain, I was just relieved I found it. Annoyingly about a week later there was one in my size in my local Zara GRR !! This dress is perfect for warm weather, from holidays to garden parties. I like how the dress underneath shows through the chiffon overlay and the colour is gorgeous and striking, it would definitely need to be worn with a plain neutral blazer although in my head I can also see it working with a patterned blue
blazer (hmmm I may try this out)

OOTD - Tailored

Trousers - Zara (similar 1,2,3 and 4)// Heels - Asos (suede version here)// T shirt - H&M// scarf - Vintage shop - (many similar here)// bag -River Island (similar 1,2,3)

I usually wear leggings most of the time, but when I saw these trousers on the Zara I fell in love with them. They are so different in that they look like tracksuit bottoms and tailored trousers at the same time like a classy take on a casual item, the faux leather pockets are a gorgeous addition also. These trousers are sold out not i think they only lasted on the website about 1 week (understandably) but I have found many similar pairs at Zara (as outlined above).

I have paired these trousers with a basic white v neck T-shirt from H&M which is tucked in to cinch in the waist and showcase the high waist of the trousers, a bright vintage scarf to liven up the outfit and some small heels which help to give the trousers a tailored smart look. This can also be reversed to make the trousers look casual and dressed down with a plain top that isn't tucked in and a pair of converse or plain pumps from Topshop.

OOTD - Mint

Finally after all the snow it's sunny yipeeee !! I must admit I enjoyed the snow at first as I got to wear my new hunter wellies (will be featuring in another post), but when the novelty wore off I was well and truly ready for some warmth !!

Skirt - ebay // Boots - Chockers// Jumper - Romwe (similar here) // Sunglasses - Asos (similar here)

I love the combination of a jumper and a skirt when the weather is mild, it's such a contrast that mimics the feeling of being in between hot and cold perfectly. I've also been pretty obsessed with the colour mint  for a long time now, I've never liked blues before but for the past few months I've been drawn to everything cobalt blue and mint so much so I now want a mint coloured car (quite the turn around) .

Now for a day of relaxing in the sun :) before the snow comes and ruins it all again!!
