June Want List

“I love new clothes. If everyone could just wear new clothes everyday,
 I reckon depression wouldn't
 exist anymore.”

― Sophie Kinsella, Confessions of a Shopaholic

I adore this bag, It is very similar to both the Zara City bag and Celine bags in style and shape.  I feel that although Monochrome is a big trend at the moment
and trends quickly change, it is something that will never got out of fashion due to its basic nature, people have always and will always wear neutrals. I'm usually not too fond of silver hardware on shoes or handbags but I think the silver complements the black and white.

Obviously being Michael Kors the bag is quite pricey at £315 but compared to other designer bags that's very reasonable and for the

quality it is definitely worth it.

I First saw culottes/Skorts in a cobalt blue in Zara however they quickly sold out
before I had chance to buy them, many bloggers have the alternative from
sheinside however it only came in white and I really wanted a bright colour to bring more attention to the unusual piece. I then discovered some on ebay from sellers with a lot of stock, the bright orange/red ones are most expensive at £40 as I believe they are the actual Zara culottes but if you don't mind
about the label you can pick up a Skort in blue, white, light pink and black from this seller (link) for just £3.99 which isn't bad at all.

I have always loved Kat&Bee wire rings but have always admired them from
afar as they are quite expensive. However I think it's now about time to get one, all of their designs are so intricate and detailed, a statement ring which is sure to bring about a lot of compliments.
There are a few different styles currently on sale on asos, nearly all of their pieces include
skulls which adds to the edgyness, I personally like the gold rings which have flower details like the Zerlina as it adds a bit of a girly element.

These shorts are very similar to the Bambi and Manson denim shorts designed by Made in Chelsea star
Millie Mackintosh and although they don't come gift wrapped with a signed print of Millie
they are a fraction of the price and still gorgeous. Lace and printed denim shorts are very on trend
at the moment particularly at festivals, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley sported a pair of swarovski encrusted Christopher Kane denim shorts last year at
Coachella and this year they seem to be at the height of their popularity.

I really like the print on this t-shirt It is quite busy making it instantly eye catching. Printed floral/leafy patterns along with mirror imagery on  clothing is very popular right now, one highstreet shop with a lot of pieces similar to this style at the moment is H&M in their Conscious collection.

I think every month Louboutins are on the Want list in my head as they are such

beautifully crafted shoes. I hope every day that the Louboutin fairy will come and drop
some off, but as I doubt that will happen anytime soon I think i'll be adding these bad boys to
my collection next. I love how they have a bit of edge due to the spikes but they aren't too outlandish
so they can be worn with practically anything. I'm not usually fond of heels with a pointed toe (mainly because I have quite big feet) but I think the style goes well with these shoes.
Just writing about these makes be realise how much a NEED them in my life asap
(Need, might be a slight exaggeration, however I guess everybody needs shoes... brilliant justification :p).

I think i'm turning around on the silver jewellery front,
my go to's have always been gold, rose gold or
bronze, but this month I've loved all things silver, with this pretty statement bangle being one of them.  discovered it on the website Henryka.co.uk, they specialise in baltic amber and silver jewellery. I personally love amber as I find the way it is formed and how old it can be fascinating, baltic amber dates back 40-60 million years ago,
can you imagine wearing something that old? ... it's incomprehensible
but also pretty awesome !!

So there you have it my June Want list, there's only 9 days left
in the month and I have none of these items yet,
 I think I better get a move on !!

DIY - DSLR Camera Bag

I give full credit to www.makeit-loveit.com for the DIY camera bag procedure, however instead of using a tote bag like they have, I've used a satchel and slightly altered the process.

I found this gorgeous satchel bag (originally from next) for just £5 on ebay. I instantly thought that it would be a perfect alternative to the ugly black or grey bags that they usually sell in camera shops.
However obviously you can't just chuck it in a bag as it needs to be protected with some sort of padding. I found the tutorial on makeit-loveit and I was going to make it exactly the same but when the bag came with a very unattractive material inside, I decided to make interior of the bag match the padded insert.

To to this I cut out the existing material in the bag and sewed the nicer fabric in (found on ebay around £2 per meter). The girl on blog tutorial I was following used a sewing machine but i'm rubbish with my sewing machine (still haven't learnt the basics) so I did it by hand.

I then sewed the padded insert and a divider (full process shown on original tutorial blog), for this I used a foam sheet (also from ebay).
Then attached the velcro so that I could move the divider around to whatever position I needed it in...

..and there we have it, a fashionable, coordinated, padded bag to hold all the bits and bobs for your DSLR camera. As well as the obvious plus points, this is a great idea as it doesn't look like you are carrying anything valuable like a camera,
I  definitely feel safer walking around with this rather than a distinguishable camera bag.

Camera bags usually range from about £25 all the way to £150 (and don't look nearly as good might I add),

Total price for this DIY bag = £9

OOTD - Cowgirl

Printed clutch/portfolio bag - Miss Selfridge (similar here)// Shirt -Zara (similar -1,2,3,4)// Hat - Tk Maxx (similar here)// Boots- Miss Selfridge (similar 1,2,3)// Leggings - Primark// Scarf - Alexander Mcqueen

I kind of feel like a cowgirl in this outfit but a fashionable cowgirl nonetheless :).
Cheetah and leopard print in particular have been very popular for a long time now (I challenge you to go in to Zara and NOT come across something covered in the print). Currently Zebra print is also gaining popularity (check out this coat which was featured in Kenzas.se blog, it's amazing !!), However  I've never been drawn to something with cow print on before as its quite rare in high street stores, but i completely fell in love when I saw this bag, the print and the dark brown leather (Faux i'm guessing as its from Miss Selfridge) go together perfectly. I think unfortunately It was a one off find as iv'e searched online for other nice cow print bags to link you too but either they are real cow skin (Yuk) and ridiculously expensive or extremely tacky.

I adore these fedora style hats, I feel that they pretty much suit anyone although they are daunting at first. When I saw Millie Mackintosh (Made in Chelsea) sporting them in all different colours I thought they looked great but i'd never be able to pull one off. It took me about 4 months to actually try one on, whilst on a girls trip to London because we were messing about in the hat section of Topshop. After checking it out in the mirror a hundred times, I still didn't get one until I went to TKMaxx with my mum and she insisted i get it, now i'm in love with it and wear it a lot, especially when i'm having a bad hair day.

I don't know if you've noticed but I usually wear a plain black vest top under most of my tops, jumpers, shirts etc. This is simply because I absolutely hate my thighs, and always try to have them covered (Yes I know it's stupid but iv'e always had a complex about them).
I just thought i'd fill you in as you will be seeing a lot more of the black vest top.

OOTD - Tailored

Trousers - Zara (similar 1,2,3 and 4)// Heels - Asos (suede version here)// T shirt - H&M// scarf - Vintage shop - (many similar here)// bag -River Island (similar 1,2,3)

I usually wear leggings most of the time, but when I saw these trousers on the Zara I fell in love with them. They are so different in that they look like tracksuit bottoms and tailored trousers at the same time like a classy take on a casual item, the faux leather pockets are a gorgeous addition also. These trousers are sold out not i think they only lasted on the website about 1 week (understandably) but I have found many similar pairs at Zara (as outlined above).

I have paired these trousers with a basic white v neck T-shirt from H&M which is tucked in to cinch in the waist and showcase the high waist of the trousers, a bright vintage scarf to liven up the outfit and some small heels which help to give the trousers a tailored smart look. This can also be reversed to make the trousers look casual and dressed down with a plain top that isn't tucked in and a pair of converse or plain pumps from Topshop.

OOTD - Tartan

Just a casual outfit today for shopping, I've worn these shoes on purpose so I can't shop for too long as they hurt after a while (great money saving strategy :p)

Top - (differnet colour white sold out) Topshop// Leggings -Primark// Boots- Chockers// Bag -Mulberry Mitzy hobo// Scarf-  H and M (Similar here)// Coat - Sheinside

The oversize basic top from Topshop is so comfy definitely worth £18, it comes in light grey, dark grey, aubergine and black. I've seen a lot of cheaper copies in places such as primark but the quality is just not the same. I always think there's no point in buying something cheaper if you'll have to keep repurchasing it every time it gets damaged!!

The tartan scarf was from H and M, it was huge and too overbearing at first when I tried it on so I cut it in half and give one part too a friend. Iv'e been searching for a blue/green tartan scarf but I cant find a nice one anywhere (If anyone knows where to get one leave it in the comments please).

I had a little history lesson from a taxi driver about tartan, apparently the red tartan was banned in Scotland in the 1700s so to get away with wearing it still they started dyeing them different colours. Random information I know but it was something that stuck in my head (I guess if that taxi driver was my history teacher i'd have gotten better marks in my exams haha).
